　　美艳性感的脱衣舞娘安吉拉（安娜·卡里娜 Anna Karina 饰）与男友埃米尔（让-克劳德·布里亚利 Jean-Claude Brialy 饰）同居很久。安吉拉非常想要一个孩子与埃米尔长相厮守，可埃米尔非常享受二人世界的自由，不想结婚更不用说生儿育女，争吵在所难免。在屡次遭到埃米尔的拒绝后，安吉拉一气之下找到了埃米尔的好友阿尔弗雷德（让-保罗·贝尔蒙多 Jean Paul Belmondo 饰）并与之发生了关系。由法国新浪潮奠基者之一让-吕克·戈达尔执导编剧的彩色宽银幕电影《女人就是女人》，是他向好莱坞音乐歌舞片的致敬之作。影片颠覆传统歌舞片模式，是一部“新现实主义歌舞片”。本片荣获1961年第11届柏林国际电影节银熊奖最佳女演员和特别奖两项殊荣，并入围金熊奖。
