今日闹哄哄的东升戏院，场场爆满，原来昔日曾闹过鬼…
七十年代初香港，生活困难，刚失业的英（关咏荷）得好友淑（汤盈盈）介绍，入了东升戏院任售票员。英工作勤奋尽责，深得太子爷然（吴启华）赏识，欲加提携。不料，英因常认为戏院内有鬼，令然大感不满。后英与然辗转发现女鬼仙（苑琼丹），始揭发原来然后母梅（韩玛利）和戏院的司理礼（骆应钧）有奸情，且欲谋夺然的家产。然得英、仙的协助，将梅、礼正法。时然不经不觉间爱上了英，无奈英的心却只有其青梅竹马的男友国（郑子诚)究竟然最终能否感动英？东升戏院又会否继续闹鬼？
